La Cumbre is located in the province of Cordoba in the administrative region of Punilla.
The town of La Cumbre can be considered as the jewel in Cordoba province with the fabulous mountain range of the Sierras de Cordoba behind it.
Over the years, the population of La Cumbre has grown steadily from its modest numbers nearly a century ago, according to censuses the population figures for La Cumbre since 1914 are as follows:
1914: 850 inhabitants (approximately)
1947: 3,968 inhabitants
1960: 4,768 inhabitants
1970: 5,725 inhabitants
1980: 6,076 inhabitants

As you can see by these figures, La Cumbre has grown steadily for many decades now, not only among Argentineans moving to the area and new births but also a large influx of foreigners choosing to live in La Cumbre; the vast majority of these foreigners moving to the area were mainly British. These British immigrants have brought in new resources and businesses to La Cumbre, among them two private schools; Reydon and St Paul's. Reydon School was originally founded as a girl's boarding school in the late 60's early 70's in Cruz Chica which is a short drive from La Cumbre itself. The other school was St Paul's school which was founded a few years before Reydon in the 1950's and was a boy's boarding school. Both of these schools still remain to this day. Now a-days both of these schools offer education for boys and girls and offer education for day-school not just boarding school facilities.
There is still a strong British population living in La Cumbre and many of the traditional British customs remain and such as the Anglican Church in Los Cocos where you will have a service conducted in English.
A further business which was set up in the 1980's to cater for the many expatriates living in the area is Links House which is located on the edge of La Cumbre Golf Club. Links House is a retirement home very popular among foreigners living in this area.
